Mac Lipstick Advise For Fair/tan Skin?

Can I Return A Mac Lipstick That Was Used?
I bought a lipstick and it looks horrible on me. i just used it once. but i hate it. i want to exchange it for another. i know that you can return used makeup at sephora.. is mac the same way? please let me know.a lot of yesses and a lot of no.. help? please be 100% sure with your answer. since sephora lets u return used makeup .. y not mac?
