Question: Mac lipstick advise for fair/tan skin? (Posted by: Twinkle Toes ツ on 2010-07-09 08:03:07) I'm looking for a nice pink lipstick that isn't so pink it's tacky, but I also do not want a nude lipstick (they look strange with my colouring). I want this lipstick to make me look polished and put together for school, work, etc. I have fair skin, but also tan pretty well. I have strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, freckles, and am a teenager. Here are the lipsticks I am thinking about: -Mac Angel http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp?ItemID=16917 -Mac Creme Cup http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=115664/Cremesheen_Creme_Cup/MAC/Lipstick -Mac Hue http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=37136/Hue/MAC/Lipstick Thank you so much! Answers: Posted by: NK on 2010-07-09, 08:17:44 I have the 3 shades you're looking at, and gorgeous as they are, they are more in the nude category than in a color-category. Angel is a pink nude-ish color: it's not so nude that it is a true nude, but it's not a "true" pink either. I find that it is slightly transparent and I place this in the nude category. It may work when you are at your palest, but it could be too pink. Fair skintones often have a lot of pink in them, and pink lipsticks as angel bring it out. Creme cup is more of a beigy pink-nude color, you know? it's still pretty pink, but not as much as Angel. Hue is my favorite lipstick ever, and I have repurchased this like two times already :p It is a light pink, and it gives a good nude look without looking like you caked on some concealer to your lips. This complements both a daytime neutral look, and a dramatic evening look like smoky eyes. If you want a true pink color that can work on both light skintones and as well when you're tan, check out speed dial. It is more of a pink than angel, but not so much that it looks tacky or cheezy. I think this would look good with your coloring :-) but stop by a mac counter and try them on. Best way to find one that you like :-) |
